Install guide

Our apps are not on the App Store or Google Play, so you install them yourself. It takes about five minutes and you only do it once per device. This page walks through every step.

How it works

  1. 1Buy a subscription here, or redeem a key from an official reseller.
  2. 2Download the app file from your Downloads page (.ipa for iOS, .apk for Android).
  3. 3Install that file on your phone using one of the methods below.
  4. 4Open the app and link this device from your dashboard.

iOS

iOS runs the .ipa file only after a certificate signs it. No computer? Use Direct install or an on-device signer. Both work on every iOS version. AltStore and Sideloadly need a Mac or PC. TrollStore works only on some iOS versions, but it never expires.

Direct install: no computer

When your Downloads page shows Direct install for a build, it installs the app over the air. You need no computer and no certificate.

  1. 1On the iPhone, open your Downloads page in Safari.
  2. 2Tap Direct install next to the build. Tap Install when iOS asks.
  3. 3Go to Settings › General › VPN & Device Management. Tap the developer and tap Trust. You do this one time.

If a build does not show Direct install, use an on-device signer.

ESign, KSign or Feather: no computer, any iOS version

An on-device signer signs the .ipa file on the iPhone. It works on every iOS version, iOS 27 included.

  1. 1Install ESign, KSign or Feather on the iPhone.
  2. 2Download the .ipa file from your Downloads page.
  3. 3Import the .ipa file into the signer.
  4. 4Sign it with a certificate, then install it from the signer.

If the app says “Untrusted Developer”, trust the certificate in Settings › General › VPN & Device Management.

AltStore: needs a computer once

AltStore installs the app using your own Apple ID and refreshes it over Wi-Fi afterwards.

  1. 1Install AltServer on a Mac or Windows PC from altstore.io, then install AltStore onto your iPhone from it.
  2. 2On the iPhone, download the .ipa from your Downloads page.
  3. 3Open AltStore, tap the + button, and pick the .ipa file you downloaded.
  4. 4Sign in with your Apple ID when asked. Apple never sees the app. Your own computer does the signing.

A free Apple ID signature lasts 7 days. Keep AltServer running on the same Wi-Fi and AltStore refreshes the app automatically before it expires. A refresh does not affect your subscription.

Sideloadly: computer and cable

Sideloadly signs and installs the .ipa directly over USB. Good if you would rather not install another app on the phone.

  1. 1Download Sideloadly on your Mac or Windows PC from sideloadly.io and install iTunes/iCloud if it asks.
  2. 2Plug the iPhone in and trust the computer when the phone asks.
  3. 3Drag the .ipa into Sideloadly, enter your Apple ID, and press Start.
  4. 4Wait for it to finish, then unplug. The app is on your home screen.

Same 7-day limit on a free Apple ID. Repeat these steps when it expires. A paid Apple Developer account signs for a year.

TrollStore: permanent, only on some iOS versions

TrollStore installs apps permanently with no expiry and no computer afterwards. It only works on the iOS versions it supports, so check first.

  1. 1Check whether your exact iOS version is supported on the TrollStore installation guide, and install TrollStore if it is.
  2. 2Download the .ipa from your Downloads page on the iPhone.
  3. 3Open the .ipa with TrollStore and tap Install. It never expires and never needs refreshing.

If TrollStore does not support your iOS version, use Direct install or an on-device signer. Do not update iOS if you want to keep TrollStore.

“Untrusted Developer” when you open the app

iOS asks you to trust the certificate the first time. Open Settings, find your Apple ID under device management, and tap Trust.

Settings › General › VPN & Device Management › (your Apple ID) › Trust

Android

Android installs the .apk directly. You only have to allow installs from your browser once.

  1. 1Open your Downloads page on the phone and tap the APK to download it.
  2. 2Tap the downloaded file. Android will say installs from this source are blocked.
  3. 3Tap Settings on that prompt and turn on “Allow from this source” for your browser or file manager.
  4. 4Go back and tap Install.
  5. 5If Play Protect warns you about an unknown app, tap “More details” then “Install anyway”.

Reinstalling the app on Android can consume a new device slot. Android does not keep the device identity across an uninstall. Uninstall only when you have to.

Linking your device

There is no email and no login inside the app. You link each device to your account from this dashboard. A key from a reseller is redeemed here first, which adds the subscription to your account.

  1. 1Open the app. It shows a Link screen with a code and a link.
  2. 2Open that link, or enter the code on the Link page here, signed in to the account that holds the subscription.
  3. 3On iOS, tap Allow when Safari offers the temporary Lynx verification profile, then install it from Settings › General › VPN & Device Management. Apple uses it to read the device ID.
  4. 4Confirm Link this device. Return to the app. It finishes signing in on its own.

The link expired

A link code lasts 10 minutes and works once. Open the Link screen in the app again to get a fresh code.

Troubleshooting

The app closes straight away or says “Untrusted Developer”

The certificate has not been trusted yet. Go to Settings › General › VPN & Device Management, tap your Apple ID and tap Trust, then open the app again.

The app stopped opening after about a week (iOS)

A free Apple ID signature lasts 7 days. Refresh it in AltStore, or reinstall with Sideloadly. Your subscription is not affected. It does not restart, and the device keeps its seat.

It says the device limit is reached

Each subscription includes one device seat per platform. Add seats from the store, or request a device reset from Downloads to free the seat for this device. Our team handles resets by hand.

Play Protect blocked the install (Android)

Tap “More details” and then “Install anyway”. Play Protect flags every app that did not come from the Play Store, which includes all sideloaded apps.

The dashboard says this device belongs to another account

One person, one account. If the device is yours, sign in as that account and link it there. Linking a device that belongs to another account suspends the new account.

I reinstalled the app. Do I lose my subscription?

No. Link the device again from your dashboard. Your remaining time does not change. On iOS the device keeps its seat. On Android an uninstall can use a new seat, so avoid uninstalling if you have few seats.
